Rispetto alle pubblicazioni precedenti questo disco è caratterizzato dall’introduzione di nuove sonorità come la guitar synth e dal grande apporto compositivo di Adrian Smith (che firma diversi brani come Wested Years) oltre a quello costante di Stevie Harris che produce alcune delle suite più lunghe e apprezzate come Heaven Can Wait ed Alexander the Great.
